Born 1946 in Lubbock, Texas. Grew up in Amarillo, and went to high school in Dallas and college at Texas Tech. Graduated in 1968 with a degree in English and a Teaching Certificate, since that was one of the few things girls usually considered in those days. After dating a number of Air Force Pilot Trainees who thought that Lubbock Texas was the armpit of the Universe, I decided to follow their advice and go to California to seek my Fortune. Unfortunately, my Fortune did not lie in teaching school, so I quit that and lied through my teeth to get a job selling medical equipment. You could do that then (lie, that is) before the Internet ruined that for all of us.
After that, I could get lots of sales jobs, finally finding my way into data processing selling software systems to hotels, medical companies, local governments, etc. After a while, still in California, I got married, got divorced, and ended up back in Dallas, where I’ve been ever since. Worked in National Account Management until Retirement in 2014. By the way, Retirement is totally fabulous.
Family: One biological daughter, two grandchildren, one stepdaughter, one grand stepchild, two brothers, three nephews, and two nieces. One cat.
I am a surprise author. This story was delivered to me during a creativity workshop while I was learning that my creativity did not lie in drawing and painting. Due to a number of synchronicities, I finally decided to publish the story, since I have always loved it, and the odd way in which it came to me. I hope you enjoy it too.
